CAT
It took HME Ahrens-Fox to engineer and build a truck tough enough to be called the CAT TM, City Attack Truck. From its heavy duty HME chassis to the toughest body in the bussiness, the CATTM was designed for those departments that appreciate its low hose bed, enough space to hold all your EMS and firefighting equipment and features such as HME Ahrens-Fox exclusive Hydra TechnologyTM high efficency water delivery systems. If you need the most affordable, most maneuverable, most efficient and longest lasting pumper on the market today, the CATTM is right up your alley.

Careful attention to detail has been addressed by HME Ahrens-Fox engineers on the CATTM body as evidenced by the stainless steel tread plate compartment overlays and the notched corner design that adds strength and allows recessed mounting of telescoping lights.

The heart of the CATTM is the exclusive Hydra Technology water delivery system. The independent pump house allows the pump system to flex without distortion or cracking. With pumping capacities up to 2,250-GPM and foam system options, including the new MAD DOGTM CAFs system, the CATTM can be tailored to meet your firepower needs.

Customize the CATTM to meet your exact needs. Recessed hose wells can be provided in the steps under the pump panel to hold trash lines or soft suctions. Choose from gas, diesel or PTO powered generators, 12-volt to 240-volt telescoping lights and a selection of light towers to put the right light on your night time operations. The CATTM can be equipped with a wide variety of shelving, slide out trays and tool mounting boards to carry your equipment efficiently and safely. The CATTM offers a number of sensible equipment storage options such as the Low-StowTM hose bed parition designed to safely enclose a back board, piercing nozzles and pike poles.

No more having to step up to stretch hose when the chips are down. The easy to reach design allows low mounting of attack monitors and the partitions can be customized to carry a varitey of equipment. Maintenance and safety issues were a prime concern when the CATTM was designed. For example, all marker, turn and tail lights, as well as the pump panel lights, are long-life LEDs. No more slippery aluminum tread plate. The CAT'sTM step areas are all stainless steel with gripping surfaces that far surpass NFPA requirements.

The CATTM by HME Ahrens-Fox has been specially designed for the department with high call activity levels. High durability has been engineered into the sturdy HME custom chassis and hard bolted stainless steel body. The Low-StowTM equipment mounting locations put items such as backboards, pike poles, ladders and hose lines within easy reach of firefighters standing on the ground. The Hydra TechnologyTM pump systems offer a large number or pump options and the CATTM is truly a maximum pumper in a minimum package.

"I just wanted to send you this note and tell you how pleased we are with the new addition to our Fire Department family. Last year we purchased a 109 foot Aerial Ladder from HME. This was the first new purchase for a vehicle of this type in the departments 50 year history. Since getting "Ladder-1" it has been both a source of pride as well as a valuable tool for protecting our community.

From the very beginning of the process, we knew a Quint type of unit would fit our needs. The 109 was more of a truck than we ever imagined we could afford. It has more ladder reach, more water on wheels and more pumping capacity than any other of the Quints in our area. Our selection began with visiting your website and finding Ladder-1 as a demo unit. Mr. Joe Merrill then met with us and showed off the vehicle to our crews and elected officials. After presenting this unique deal to our township board of trustees and showing them how it will serve the community well into the future, it was a unanimous vote to purchase the truck.

Ladder-1 is not our only HME. In 2001, we purchased an engine from HME which still runs first out on all fires and auto accidents. I must also compliment you on the service you provide to your owners. Anytime we have had a problem with either truck, just a phone call is all it took to remedy the problem.

My thanks to everyone who made this possible. And a special thanks to Joe Merrill. He was great to work with, and got all of our questions answered. The HME investment was a good one for our community. We are also proud to say that HME is built in Michigan! That carries a lot of weight, especially in this economy. When it comes time to look for our next piece of fire apparatus, you can be sure we will look to HME."
